The UK Government has published its response to its earlier public consultation on the UK’s future legal framework for imposing and implementing sanctions. The consultation, which ran between April and June 2017, sought views on the legal powers which the UK would need to be able to impose and implement sanctions after Brexit.
Today, the President signed into law the “Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act” (“CAATSA”), a bill that he called “seriously flawed” in a statement about CAATSA issued at the same time he signed the bill.
