A number of updates have been made to UK general export licences. These are licences which are generally publically available. You can rely on these licences provided the goods and destinations in question fall within scope, and provided you comply with appropriate registration requirements and other conditions under the licences.
- An update has been made to the OGEL for Oil and Gas Exploration: Dual-Use Items. This OGEL permits export of certain dual-use items for captive use in construction or hydrographic surveys for O&G related contracts. This is only for certain destinations and is subject to certain conditions. The new amendment includes additional measurement equipment and systems (under 7A003B and 7A003C) within the permitted list of goods.
- An update has been made to the goods licensed under the OGEL for International Non-Proliferation Regime Decontrols. This OGEL licenses export of particular dual-use goods to most destinations to reflect decontrols at international level. Specifically, the new amendment to the OGEL includes technology under 6A002 within the permitted list of items under the licence. This covers technology for particular optical sensors and related equipment in 6A002, subject to certain exemptions.
- The UK statutory referencing has been updated in the OGTCL for Trade and Transportation: Small Arms and light weapons.
