On Monday, 26 July, the Ukrainian president enacted a decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), which imposed economic sanctions against six individuals and ten entities, including three non-profit organizations related to the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic.
Among the companies subject to sanctions is the Russian e-tailer Wildberries, as well as its divisions in other states including Ukraine, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Poland.
The sanctions list also contains non-profit organizations that, although French-registered, represent the interests of Russian occupation forces in Donbas and the Russian occupation administration of the Crimean peninsula. These include:
- the NGO “Official Representative Center of the Donetsk People’s Republic in France”
- the NGO “Association of the Representation of the Donetsk People’s Republic in France”
- the NGO “France-Crimea Association”
The decision contains provisions on freezing assets; restrictions on withdrawing capital from Ukraine; suspension of performing economic and financial obligations; termination of the provision of telecommunication services and the use of public telecommunication networks; prohibition of technology transfers and rights to intellectual property rights; and a number of other restrictive measures.
The names of the newly listed individuals are:
- Ваkаlchuk Татianа (co-founder of Wildberries)
- Ваkаlchuk Vlаdislаv (co-founder of Wildberries)
- Rеviashko Andrei (co-founder of Wildberries)
- Kuzmenko Aleksei (co-founder of Wildberries)
- Fayard Gérald-Hubert (founder of the NGO “Official Representative Center of the Donetsk People’s Republic in France”)
- Neant Christel (employee of the International Press Center Doni)
Ukraine froze all of these individuals’ assets, imposed restrictions on withdrawal of their capital from Ukraine and suspended the performance of economic and financial obligations. Click here to obtain access to the NSDC’s website for detailed information.
