Baker & McKenzie is hosting two upcoming year-in-review events to review 2014 developments in U.S. export controls and sanctions.  These events are sponsored and organized by the Export Controls and Economic Sanctions Committee of the American Bar Association (“ABA”) Section of International Law.

2014 U.S. Export Controls Year In Review

The first ABA event on January 22, 2015, will review 2014 developments in U.S. export controls, including the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”), International Traffic in Arms Regulations, ongoing Export Control Reforms, and notable enforcement cases.  Paul Amberg from our Chicago office will discuss EAR developments, and Alexandre Lamy from our Washington office will moderate the event.

The second ABA event on January 29, 2015, will review 2014 developments in U.S. sanctions, including Russia, Iran, Burma/Myanmar, Syria, and notable enforcement cases.  Kerry Contini from our Washington office will be one of the speakers, and Alexandre Lamy will also moderate this event.

Paul Amberg is a partner in Baker McKenzie’s Madrid office, where he handles international trade and compliance issues. He advises multinational companies on export controls, trade sanctions, antiboycott rules, customs laws, anticorruption laws, and commercial law matters. Paul helps clients assess and address compliance risks presented by export controls, trade sanctions, antiboycott rules, customs laws, and anticorruption laws.
