We reported in previous blog posts (such as here) that Canada has continued to expand its sanctions regime against Russia and Ukraine alongside the US and the EU. On February 17, 2015, Canada further expanded its sanctions, adding 11 individuals and 1 entity to the list of designated persons under Schedule 1 of the Special Economic Measures (Russia) Regulations (the “Russia Regulations”), and 1 entity to Schedule 3 of the Russia Regulations. Canada also added 26 individuals and 15 entities to the list of designated persons under the Special Economic Measures (Ukraine) Regulations (the “Ukraine Regulations”). An unofficial copy of the regulations amending the Russia Regulations naming the additional individuals and entities can be found here. An unofficial copy of the regulations amending the Ukraine Regulations naming the additional individuals and entities can be found here.
