Council Decision (CFSP) 2015/1524 of 14 September 2015, which amends Decision 2014/145/CFSPconcerning restrictive measures in respect of actions undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, extends sanctions for another 6 months, until 15 March 2016. The Decision also de-lists one person and updates the entries for 149 people and 1 entity.

The Council of the EU announced today that it has agreed to renew the EU sanctions against Russia for a further six months until 31 January 2016. The implementing legislation has yet to be published.

The 17th EU-Ukraine summit took place earlier this week in Kiev.  In a Joint Statement published after the summit, EU leaders reiterated their commitment to a “non-recognition” policy of the illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol and the “continued violation of the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine and of international law”, including through the implementation of restrictive measures.  EU leaders are also reported to have taken note of the European Council Conclusions of…
