The 17th EU-Ukraine summit took place earlier this week in Kiev.  In a Joint Statement published after the summit, EU leaders reiterated their commitment to a “non-recognition” policy of the illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol and the “continued violation of the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine and of international law”, including through the implementation of restrictive measures.  EU leaders are also reported to have taken note of the European Council Conclusions of 19 March 2015 in which it called for the swift and full implementation of the Minsk agreements and for the duration of the restrictive measures to be clearly linked to this.
