The European Council has just announced that it has extended its asset freezing provisions for three of the four persons targeted by measures applying until 6 June 2015. The measures are prolonged by nine months for two of the persons targeted and by four months for the third.

This decision was taken in the light of ongoing judicial proceedings in Ukraine to which these persons are subject. EU restrictive measures focusing on the freezing and recovery of misappropriated assets now apply to a total of 17 persons.

The related legislative acts, as well as the individuals’ identities, will be published in the Official Journal tomorrow (6 June 2015).
