On February 13, 2026, the US Treasury Department’s (“Treasury”) Financial Crimes Enforcement Network announced the launch of a new dedicated webpage for the confidential submission of whistleblower tips on fraud, money laundering, and sanctions violations. Based on the press release, The new initiative follows President Trump’s recent efforts to combat the government benefits fraud schemes in Minnesota.
Treasury has encouraged whistleblowers to submit tips as soon as possible and to include specific, well-documented information to support their claims. According to Treasury, whistleblowers may be eligible for financial awards if their tips result in a successful enforcement action.
The launch of the streamlined whistleblower submission process underscores Treasury’s continued enforcement efforts on fraud, money laundering, sanctions, and other illicit financial activities. Covered entities may wish to review their internal compliance controls, escalation procedures, and internal reporting mechanisms in light of the increased likelihood that potential violations could be reported directly to regulators. Whistleblower‑driven investigations may also accelerate enforcement timelines once information is submitted to FinCEN.
We will continue to monitor developments related to FinCEN’s whistleblower program and related enforcement actions.
