As per our previous blog, in September 2014, the Council of the European Union adopted new restrictive measures against Russia and adopted Council Regulation (EU) No 960/2014 (“the Amending Regulation”) which amended Council Regulation (EU) No 833/2014 so as to implement the new restrictions.

This new Order, made by the Secretary of State, makes provision for the enforcement of the new restrictives measure against Russia specified in Council Regulation (EU) No 960/2014.

It does so by amending the Export Control (Russia, Crimea and Sevastopol Sanctions) Order 2014 (S.I. 2014/2357) (“the Russia Sanctions Order”) which makes provision for the enforcement of all current trade restrictions against Russia.

The new Order comes into force on 29th of November 2014.
