The UK has announced its immediate plans to adopt further sanctions against Russia. See here for relevant press release.

The planned new UK sanctions include:

  • Export bans on the provision of IT consultancy, architectural, engineering, advertising, transactional legal advisory and auditing services.
  • Export bans on almost 700 UK goods. The UK has noted that the list will include hundreds of goods that are critical for production in Russia’s manufacturing sector.
  • The Designation of Elvira Nabiullina, the Governor of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.
  • The UK will suspend the process by which actions taken to manage the orderly failure of Russian banks are recognised under the laws of the United Kingdom, in cases where the bank is a sanctioned entity.

The Governor of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation has already been designated-see here.

Legislation to implement all other new sanctions, mentioned above, has not been adopted by the UK, but is expected in the near future.
