On 31 July, Liechtenstein published a regulation, effective 1 August 2014, amending the Special Economic Measures (Russia) Regulations (the “Regulations“) that are designed to prevent the circumvention of international sanctions related to the situation in Ukraine. This update follows the EU’s recent decisions to sanction further individuals and entities on 12 July 2014 (click here), 25 July 2014 (click here) and 30 July 2014 (click here). The regulation mirrors these measures and incorporates these same parties into Liechtenstein’s anti-circumvention legislation, bringing the total number of individuals listed by Liechtenstein to 95, and the total number of listed entities to 23.
