Baker McKenzie’s Global Trade and Sanctions Practice will be hosting a webinar on the possible developments in US, EU and UK Russia sanctions policy that may occur over the coming months.

This 45-minute webinar will take place Wednesday, 19 March 2025 at 3:00 PM CET / 10:00 AM EDT.

It has been reported that the Trump administration has asked the US State and Treasury departments to provide a list of sanctions that could be eased as part of a plan to restore relations with Russia and end the war in Ukraine. At the same time, members of the Trump administration have also aired the possibility of sanctions being ratcheted up as part of a broader strategy to secure a peaceful end to the conflict. Any developments in the US will require EU and UK lawmakers to carefully consider their response, noting the additional challenges that arise in the EU due to the requirement for sanctions to be agreed on a unanimous basis.

In this webinar, a panel of our senior trade and sanctions lawyers will discuss the current sanctions frameworks in relation to Russia, how these could be relaxed, and how the EU and UK may respond, drawing on past experiences where sanctions programmes have been lifted. Whilst there are a number of uncertainties, if the war is to be brought to an end it is clear that sanctions policy will need to evolve.

Our panelists will also provide practical guidance on what companies can do now to be prepared for these potential developments.

We will use Zoom as the presenting platform for this webinar. To register, click here and submit the form with your information.
